Bruins forward Charlie Adams commits to Nebraska-Omaha

May 25, 2012

The Austin Bruins, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), have announced that forward Charlie Adams has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey at the University of Nebraska-Omaha.  UNO is a member of the Western Collegiate Hockey Assoication (WCHA).

Adams, 20, played in 116 career NAHL regular season games during two seasons with the Bruins, scoring 35 goals and 57 assists totaling 92 points.  The White Bear Lake, Minnesota native led the Bruins team in scoring each of the past two seasons.  Adams also participated in the 2011 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament in Ann Arbor, Michigan as a part of Team Central.

“Charlie has worked hard the past two years for the chance to play NCAA Division I hockey,” stated Bruins Head Coach Chris Tok.  “He now has the time to continue developing his game at a higher level. The staff at UNO will push him in all aspects and we wish him the best of luck with the next stage in his career.”

Adams will begin his NCAA career with the Mavericks in the 2012-13 season.
