"Not only is the NAHL committed to the development and exposure of its own players, but its future prospects as well," said NAHL commissioner Mark Frankenfeld.  "These three events are the ideal way for elite young student-athletes to become more familiar with the benefits of our league while providing them unmatched exposure in the college and professional circles."

The first tournament of the season will be held from September 18-21, 2008 at the Schwan Super Rink in Blaine, Minn.  Held in conjunction with the Sherwood/NAHL Showcase Tournament, the event will feature 24 Midget Major teams, 16 Midget Minor teams and 16 Bantam Major teams.

The second tournament will be held from December 26-30, 2008 at the Hardee's Iceplex in Chesterfield, Mo., home of the St. Louis Bandits. The event will showcase 12 Midget Major teams, 12 Midget Minor teams and 8 Bantam Major teams.

The third and final tournament of the season will take place from January 16-19, 2009 at the Ice Cube in Ann Arbor, Mich.  The event, held in conjunction with the Sherwood/NAHL Top Prospects Tournament and hosted by the USA Hockey National Team Development Program, will feature 12 Midget Major teams, 12 Midget Minor teams and 8 Bantam Major teams.

All three tournaments, which are USA Hockey-sanctioned and utilize the USA Hockey Officiating Development Program, are designed to maximize the exposure of all the Midget and Bantam participants through the NAHL's high-profile recruiting events, which attract hundreds of college, junior and professional scouts.

Each event is a four-game guarantee, with all game scores and statistics provided by Pointstreak and every championship game broadcast live over the Internet via B2 Networks. USA Hockey, NCAA and Junior seminars will be conducted to help educate both players and parents.

Applications must be received at the NAHL office no later than June 10, 2008 and teams will be notified no later than June 20, 2008 of their application status. A check in the amount of $1,500 per tournament per team made payable to the NAHL must accompany the application. A full refund will be issued to teams not accepted.
