Wisconsin forward Jastrzebski makes NCAA DI Commitment

Jastrzebski scored for Selects Gold in the Top Prospects Tournament.

The Wisconsin Windigo are pleased to announce that forward Jacob Jastrzebski has announced his commitment to play NCAA Division I hockey for Augustana University. 

Jastrzebski, 18, is playing his first full season of junior hockey after getting a taste of the NAHL last season, playing in 7 games. In those games, the Chicago, Illinois native recorded four assists alongside a +2 rating. He has since joined the Windigo full-time and has been an integral piece to their division-leading roster, tallying 13 goals and 28 assists in 44 games, nearly on a point-per-game pace. 

“I am excited and honored to announce my commitment to play Division 1 Hockey and further my education at Augustana University. I’d like to thank my family, coaches, trainers, teammates, friends, and everyone else who has helped me along the way!” said Jastrzebski.

Jastrzebski was selected and participated recently in the 2024 Top Prospects Tournament as a member of the Selects Gold roster. In their day two matchup against Team South, he tallied a goal in the 1st period. 

“Jacob has had a great first year of juniors and I’m so happy for him and his family to be rewarded with this opportunity. He plays such a responsible and honest game but is also a big offensive threat every night. Augustana is getting an unbelievable person, teammate, and player,” said Blake Hietala, head coach of the Wisconsin Windigo. 

He is the 11th player on the Windigo roster committed to playing NCAA Division I Hockey. He will be playing alongside five other current NAHLers including his teammate Erick Comstock at Augustana.
