Atlantic Hockey Player of the Month: Will Gavin, Air Force (Springfield Jr. Blues) - Gavin led the nation in January hat tricks with two, tied for third in scoring, and third in goals. The Durham, Conn., native opened the month with his second career hat trick against Bentley on Jan. 6 as part of a career-high four-point night. In the Falcons’ road sweep at Army West Point, Gavin contributed four assists including three primary helpers, to the Air Force attack. He recorded his second hat trick of the month in a win over Canisius and added a fourth goal in the series the following night to end the month on a four-game scoring streak. This is his first career Atlantic Hockey monthly honor.

CCHA Defenseman of the Month & Week: Evan Murr, Minnesota State (St. Cloud Norsemen) - Murr led all CCHA blueliners with six points in January, scoring a goal and recording five assists. He also posted defenseman bests in plus-minus (+5) and multi-point games (2), while notching 11 shots on goal and four blocks in the Mavericks’ end. He helped set up both goals in a 2-1 win at Augustana on January 6, before dishing out two more helpers in a 4-1 victory at Bowling Green on January 20.

CCHA Goaltender of the Month: Alexander Tracy, Minnesota State (Johnstown Tomahawks) - Tracy went 3-0-2 with a 1.16 goals-against average and a .947 save percentage in five January starts. He totaled 107 saves in 309:03 minutes of action, registering two shutouts. After allowing three goals at Augustana in a 3-3 tie on January 5, he surrendered just three over his last four starts, including shutouts against Ferris State (4-0 on Jan. 13) and Northern Michigan (4-0 on Jan. 27). He aided a Minnesota State penalty kill that posted an 85.2% rate in the month.

CCHA Forward of the Week: Stepan Pokorny, Ferris State (Aberdeen Wings) - Pokorny scored five goals for five points, leading the Bulldogs to a road sweep of Augustana on opening weekend for Midco Arena. He matched an NCAA single-game, season-high with four goals on Saturday night, including the overtime winner in a 4-3 victory over the Vikings. For the week, he recorded a league-best 11 shots on goal and was fourth in both face-off wins (21) and plus-minus (+2).

ECAC Goaltender of the Month: Ian Shane, Cornell (Bismarck Bobcats) - Shane is named Goaltender of the Month after an impressive 5-0-1 record in January, playing six games. Shane made 116 saves, including a shutout with 17 saves at Harvard. Facing three nationally-ranked opponents, he allowed just nine goals throughout the month. The junior netminder posted an impressive 1.58 goals-against average and a commendable .928 save percentage.

ECAC Defenseman of the Week: Cullen Ferguson, Union College (Aberdeen Wings) - Ferguson earns Defender of the Week honors with an impressive display on the blueline in the Mayor’s Cup, where the Garnet Chargers secured a 5-2 victory. The blueliner scored an equalizer in the second period and added a pair of assists, concluding the game with a three-point performance. Ferguson rounded out the weekend with a positive plus-minus of one.

ECHL Goaltender of the Week: Hunter Vorva, Kalamazoo (Coulee Region Chill) - Vorva went 2-0-0 with a 1.00 goals-against average and a save percentage of .975 in two appearances last week. The 28-year-old turned aside 36 shots in a 5-1 win at Toledo on Saturday and made 42 saves in a 4-1 victory against Indy on Sunday. A native of Kalamazoo, Vorva has appeared in 12 games for the K-Wings this season going 6-5-0 with two shutouts, a 2.53 goals-against average and a save percentage of .921.
