Maine defenseman Orloff makes NCAA DI commitment

December 22, 2023

The Maine Nordiques of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that defenseman Evan Orloff has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for St. Lawrence University in the ECAC.

Orloff, 20, is in the middle of his third season in the NAHL with the Nordiques. The 6’3/190 lbs. native of Kensington, MD, has appeared in 25 games so far during the 2023-24 season and recorded 13 points (5 goals, 8 assists).

During the 2022-23 season, he played in 50 regular season games during the 2022-23 season and recorded 22 points (8 goals, 14 assists). He also added three points in seven Robertson Cup Playoff games.

Orloff was originally committed to UMass but recently changed his commitment.

“Evan has been a staple on the blue line and in the community. He provides us with successful penalty kill shifts and moves the puck quickly as a power play quarterback. Evan has been apart of many memorable moments as a Maine Nordique and looks to make more in the second half of the season,” said Nordiques head coach Nick Skerlick

During his first season in the NAHL in 2021-22, Orloff played in 58 games and recorded 18 points (5 goals, 13 assists).

Prior to playing junior hockey, Orloff played youth hockey for the New Jersey Rockets and the St. Albans School.
