Rochester defenseman Procious makes NCAA DI commitment

December 12, 2023

The Rochester Jr. Americans of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that team captain and defenseman Tyler Procious has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for American International College in Atlantic Hockey.

Procious, 20, is in his first season playing in the NAHL for the Jr. Americans and fourth season of junior hockey overall. The 5’10/166 lbs. native of Rochester, NY, has recorded 25 points (2 goals, 23 assists) in 25 games played to date, which currently ranks him 3rd in scoring among all NAHL defensemen.

“I am honored and humbled to announce my commitment to play division 1 hockey at AIC. Thank you to my friends, family, coaches and teammates for everything along the way. Excited for the next 4!” said Procious.

Prior to playing in the NAHL, Procious played three seasons of junior hockey in the USHL for the Waterloo Black Hawks, Muskegon Lumberjacks, and Omaha Lancers.

Prior to that, he played youth hockey for the Buffalo Jr. Sabres.

He is fifth player on the 2023-24 Jr. Americans roster who is committed to play NCAA Division I hockey.
