El Paso defenseman Stoner makes NCAA commitment

The El Paso Rhinos of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that defenseman Zach Stoner has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Concordia College in the MIAC.

Stoner, 20, just completed his third and final season playing in the NAHL. The 6’1/197 lbs. native of Leesburg, VA, began the 2022-23 season playing for the Johnstown Tomahawks, where he recorded a point in 13 regular season games.

During the second half of the season, he was traded to the Rhinos, where he played in 17 games.

During the 2021-22 season, Stoner put up 8 points in 41 games played for the Tomahawks.

During the 2020-21 season, Stoner made his NAHL debut with the Tomahawks while also playing for the Esmark Stars 18U team in the NAPHL. During that season, he put up 14 points in 20 games with the Stars 18U team and also played in the 2020-21 NAPHL 18U All-Star Game.

Prior to playing for the Esmark Stars, Stoner played in the NAPHL during the 2017-18 season for the Washington Little Capitals 15U team.

Stoner appeared in 81 career NAHL games during his career.
