New Jersey defenseman Parrott makes NCAA commitment

March 28, 2018
The New Jersey Titans of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that defenseman Zack Parrott has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey at Trine University for the 2018-19 season.

In two seasons with the Titans, Parrott, 20, has played 64 games and recorded one goal and seven assists for eight points. The 6'0/195 lbs. native of Howell, Michigan, is more known, however, for his physical play and doing things on the ice that may not end up on the scoresheet. He served as one of New Jersey's best shutdown defenseman before his season was unfortunately cut short with an ACL injury.

"We couldn't be more proud and happy for Zack and his family," said Titans head coach Craig Doremus. "He was a warrior for our team last year playing through a significant injury to help the team advance to within one game of the Robertson Cup Finals. He worked long and hard to get ready for this season, and unfortunately his final season was cut short due to a different injury. Trine is getting a very good defenseman and great young man."

Trine University, located in Angola, Indiana, play under the Northern Collegiate Hockey Association. They are led by head coach Alex Todd.

When speaking about his commitment, Parrott expressed his excitement on continuing his hockey career while talking about his growth as a player and a person in the Titans organization.

"It means a lot for me to get this commitment especially after having injuries. And to have a school that is going to help me work through that and support me is awesome," Parrott said.

"The Titans organization helped me more than I could have ever imagined, not only on but off the ice as well. Craig and Bobby helped make me a more mature hockey player as well as a person, and their support through injuries and always having the confidence in me helped me to be my best. I can't thank the entire Titans organization enough for what they've done for me over the past two years."
