May 14, 2016
The Coulee Region Chill of the NAHL are pleased to announce that defenseman Nico Luka has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey at American International College (AIC), a member of the Atlantic Hockey Association (AHA).

Luka, 20, just completed his second and final season playing in the NAHL for the Chill. The native of Bartlett, Illinois, was 5th among NAHL blueliners in scoring this season with 38 points in 58 games played. Luka’s 38 points were good for 2nd overall in team scoring.

Luka also played the 2014-15 season for the Chill, recording 14 points in 54 games played. In his two-year NAHL career, Luka (5’11/180) has put up 52 points in 112 career regular season games.

Luka was named to the 2015-16 NAHL All-Midwest Division Team for his season. He was also named the NAHL Defenseman of the Month in March.

"We are very excited for Nico to attend AIC and play hockey. He was consistently one of our top defenseman and they will be getting a solid person and player. We cannot wait to follow his career,” stated former Head Coach AJ Degenhardt.

Luka is the 11th Chill player this season to have an NCAA commitment.
