Odessa 2 @ Texas 5 – Scott Conway had his second consecutive three-point game as Texas won their eighth straight game in a 5-2 win over Odessa, completing a weekend home sweep.  Newcomer AJ Duggan had another two point night and the game-winning goal.  Mitchell McPherson scored twice for Texas and Leo Lumm also added a goal.  Dylan Campbell and Lawrence Cornellier scored in the losing effort for Odessa. Wichita Falls 1 @ Topeka 3 – The RoadRunners completed a weekend sweep of the Wildcats with a 3-1 win on Saturday thanks to some 3rd period heroics from forward Sean Gaffney.  Topeka took an early 1-0 lead with a goal from Tyler Andrew.  Conor O’Neil tied the game for Wichita Falls, which lasted late into the 3rd period.  Gaffney then scored two goals in a two and half minute span to give the RoadRunners a 3-1 win.  Gaffney also assisted on the first goal to give him a three point night. Corpus Christi 4 @ Amarillo 3 (SO) – The Ice Rays picked up a big 4-3 shootout win in Amarillo on Saturday night, earning a weekend split of their series with the Bulls.  All the scoring in regulation came in the 2nd period as Michael Economos, Jalen Schulz and Beau Walker scored for the IceRays and TJ Sarcona, Ryan Cole and John Rey scored for the Bulls.  Charles Baldwin, Emil Romig and Brandon Smith scored in the shootout for Corpus Christi to secure the win. Brookings 4 @ Bismarck 3 (SO) – Drew Weigman made 36 saves, then stopped all the Bobcats shooters in the shootout as the Blizzard earned a weekend split of their series in Bismarck with a 4-3 shootout win.  Blizzard goals in regulation came from Drew Brevig, Conor Andrle and Casey Purpur, while Bismarck goals were scored by Stanislav Dzakhov, Matt Anders and Adam Knochenmus.  Andrle and Eric Brenk scored in the shootout. Aberdeen 3 @ Minot 4 (SO) – It took 22 combine shooters, but the Minot Minotauros finally outlasted the Wings in a 4-3 shootout win to complete a weekend home sweep.  Wesley Iverson scored the shootout winner.  Jake Clifford, Lucas Oliver and Brett Bukowski scored in regulation for the MInotauros, while Peter Krieger, Patrick Steinhauser and Jake Horton scored for the Wings.  Minot goalie Ryan Ruck made 33 saves and stopped 9 of 11 shooters in the shootout.  Boxscore
 
Coulee Region 1 @ Austin 3 – The Bruins outshot the Chill 46-23 and salvaged a weekend split with the Chill thanks to a 3-1 home win on Saturday.  Brandon Wahlin opened the scoring in the 1st period with a power play goal.  CJ Smith scored in the 2nd period to make it 2-0.  Andy Faust brought the Chill to within 2-1 with a goal midway through the 3rd period, but a late empty-net goal from Jay Dickman secured the win for the 1st place Bruins.  Boxscore
 
Michigan 2 @ Johnstown 3 – In front of over 3,300 fans in the Johnstown, the Tomahawks got a weekend split of their series with the Warriors thanks to two goals from Jaycob McCombs.  After a scoreless 1st period, Michigan took a 1-0 lead on a goal from Connor Lyons.  All three of Johnstown’s goals came in the 3rd period as Cody Gylling tied the game with a power play goal before McCombs scored twice.  AJ Marcinek had the other Warriors goal. Jamestown 3 @ Kalamazoo 2 (SO) – Defenseman Tyler Minx scored the lone goal in the shootout as Jamestown picked up a 3-2 road win in Kalamazoo on Saturday.  The Ironmen opened up a 2-0 lead in the 1st period on goals from Dylan Zink and Evan Ritt.  Taylor Burden cut the lead to 2-1 with a goal in the 2nd period.  Danny Hamburg tied the game at 2-2 early in the 3rd period.  Ironmen goaltender Tim Shaughnessy made 42 saves and stopped all five K-Wings shooters in the shootout. Fresno 4 @ Wenatchee 3 (SO) – Newcomer Nick McKee was the complete difference in the game as he recorded a hat-trick and then scored the shootout winning goal as Fresno swept the Wild in Wenatchee.  McKee gave the Monsters a 1-0 lead in the 1st period.  That was answered early in the second period by two goal from the Wild’s Jono Davis.  However, McKee would add two more goals in the 2nd period.  Nathan Flynn tied the game in the 3rd period.  McKee was one of three shooters to score in the shootout for Fresno. Springfield 1 @ Fairbanks 2 (SO) – The Ice Dogs came away with a 2-1 shootout win on Friday.  Scoring was tough to come by in regulation thanks to some great goaltending from Springfield’s Ryan Kellenberger and the Ice Dogs Steve Perry.  Jeff McFarland gave the Jr. Blues a 1-0 lead late in the 1st period.  That was countered midway through the 3rd period on a goal from Garret Clemment.  Jayson Angus and Jacob Hetz scored in the shootout for the Ice Dogs win in front of a sold out crowd. Janesville 2 @ Kenai River 3 (SO) – The Brown Bears snapped their losing skid with a 3-2 shootout win on Saturday, earning a weekend split with Janesville.  The Bears took a 1-0 lead in the 1st period on a goal from Ryan Walker.  The Jets would answer in the 2nd period on a goal from Daniel Kucerovy.  Alec Butcher have Kenai a 2-1 lead late in the 3rd period, but Jason Ford was able to tie the game with less than two minutes remaining to send it to extra time where Kenai’s Albin Karlsson and Alex Jackstadt scored in the shootout for the Bears win.
