Fresno 2 @ Kenai River 6 – The Brown Bears took the two out of three games on the weekend against Fresno, which included Sunday’s 6-2 win.  Matt Seidel had three points in the win, including the game’s first goal.  Fresno’s Mikhail Bushinski scored both goals for the Monsters, which gave them a 2-1 lead, but Kenai River scored the final five goals from Conor Deal, Alex Jackstadt, Brad LeLievre, Ansel Duesenberg and Lucas Kohls. Goaltender Sean Healy made 35 saves in the win. Boxscore

Wenatchee 4 @ Fairbanks 5 (SO) – The third game of the weekend set in Fairbanks was the most thrilling of the weekend between the top two teams in the West.  In a back and forth game, the Ice Dogs were pushed to their last shooter in the shootout and responded with two straight goals to secure the win, 5-4.  Wenatchee got two goals from Jono Davis and two from Blake Roubos, while Fairbanks had goals from Jakob Romo, Brett Gervais, Doug Rose and Kyle Lee.  Patrick Newell had the shootout winner. Michigan 1 @ Kalamazoo 6 – The Jr. K-Wings got back on track and completed a weekend sweep of the Michigan Warriors.  Just as they had the night before, Kalamazoo erupted for six goals in the win.  Things were looking good for the Warriors after they scored just over a minute into the game off the stick of Corey Schuenenman.  However, it was all K-Wings after that as six different players scored including: Jacob McDowell, Kyle Gattelaro, Robbie Payne, Patrick Spellacy, Danny Hamburg and Nolan Culver. Janesville 1 @ Johnstown 4 – The Tomahawks pushed their record above .500 with a 4-1 win on Sunday and a weekend sweep of the Janesville Jets.  Mitch Kontny scored twice including the game’s first goal just :19 seconds into the game.  Jordan Watt made it 2-0 with a goal in the 2nd period.  Janesville answered in their lone goal of the game which came on the power play early in the 3rd period from Brett Bauza.  However, Konty’s second goal and another from Zack Wallace put the game out of reach. Boxscore

Wichita Falls 2 @ Texas 3 (SO) – It took a shootout, but ultimately the Texas Tornado remained undefeated with a 3-2 shootout win at home over the Wildcats.  The Wildcats got on the board first on a goal from Charlie Hemstrom.  That was answered twice by the Tornado in the 2nd period as they got goals from Brandon Hawkins and Justin Greenberg.  Sami Salminen tied the game in the 3rd period on a power play goal.  In the shootout, Scott Conway’s goal was the difference as he as the third Texas shooter to score. Boxscore

Odessa 2 @ Topeka 3 – It was a battle of special teams on Sunday in Topeka as the RoadRunners scored three unanswered goals to defeat the Jackalopes, 3-2.  Things were looking good for Odessa as they scored the first two goals, the first from Pat Thompson, the second from Tyler Cayemberg.  However, Topeka stormed back with a powerplay goal from Sean Gaffney, a shorthanded goal from Trace Stahle and the game-winning goal from Drew Kariofiles.
