Bulls and Brahmas pick up road wins on Sunday

Lone Star forward Charlie Masek had the game-winning goal in a 3-1 win on Sunday in Oklahoma.
North Iowa 6 @ Aberdeen 3 – Byron Hartley had two goals and an assist and Mitch Day made 42 saves as the Bulls completed a weekend sweep of the Wings thanks to a 6-3 win on Sunday. North Iowa jumped out to a 3-0 lead midway through the contest, which included two goals from Hartley and one from Nolan Abraham. Towards the end of the 2nd period, the Wings pcked up their first goal from Devon Carlstrom. In the 3rd period, the Bulls put the game away with three more goals from Eli Miller, Blake Ulve, and Jack Mesic. Kyle Contessa and Owen Benoit had the other goals in the Wings loss. Wings goalie Geno Pichora made 25 saves in the loss.
Lone Star 3 @ Oklahoma 1 – The Warriors lost their second game of the weekend as the visiting Brahmas got 21 saves from goalie William Gramme in a 3-1 win in Oklahoma. The Warriors scored first as early in the 1st period, Mikko Liukkonen lit the lamp. Lone Star responded as Miles Harrington scored later in the period to make it 1-1 thanks to his first goal in a Brahmas uniform. In the 2nd period, the Brahmas went ahead 2-1 on a goal from Charlie Masek. Mason Mara would add an empty-net goal in the 3rd period. Oklahoma goalie Daniel Duris made 23 saves in the loss.
