Fairbanks defenseman Conrad makes NCAA DI commitment

The Fairbanks Ice Dogs of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that defenseman Jacob Conrad has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Lake Superior State University in the CCHA.

Conrad, 20, is in his third and final season playing in the NAHL for the Ice Dogs. The 5’11/180 lbs. native of Green Bay, WI, is currently 3rd in team scoring with 23 points (1 goal, 22 assists) in 36 games played to date in 2022-23. His 23 points ranks him in the Top 10 in scoring among all NAHL defensemen.

“I am very excited to announce my commitment to play Division 1 hockey at Lake Superior State University. I would like to thank my family, teammates, and coaches for their continued support,” stated Conrad. “That school has a great coaching staff that I believe in. It’s a program that’s had a lot of success and has a great history. It’s a great fit for me and my family, and I’m really excited.”

During the 2021-22 season, Conrad recorded 26 points in 54 regular season games and had three points in five Robertson Cup Playoff games.

During his rookie season in 2020-21, he put up 14 points in 43 regular season games.

Overall in 133 career NAHL regular season games, Conrad has posted 63 points.

Prior to playing in the NAHL, Conrad played for Notre Dame Academy and Team Wisconsin.
