Chippewa forward Sasaki makes NCAA DI commitment

The Chippewa Steel of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that forward Kazumo Sasaki has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Lake Superior State in the CCHA.
Sasaki, 17, is competing in his first season of junior hockey in the NAHL. The 5’10/150 lbs. native of Nishitokyo, Japan, is having a very solid rookie season so far in 2022-23 with 13 points (6 goals, 7 assists) 30 games played.
“I’m excited to announce my commitment to play division 1 hockey at Lake Superior State University. Thank you to my friends, family, my advisors at LeadOff Sports, and coaches for all of the help and support!” said Sasaki on social media.
“We are so excited for Kazumo and his family. The Lakers got an exciting young player and an even better kid,” said Steel head coach Casey Mignone.
Prior to playing in the NAHL, Sasaki played youth hockey for the Ontario Hockey Academy.
