Mudbugs and Minotauros pick up wins on Thursday
Minot forward Chase LaPinta had a goal and an assist in a 4-3 win on Thursday.
Shreveport 7 @ Corpus Christi 3 – Eric Vitale scored twice to lead the Mudbugs to their third consecutive win as they beat the IceRays in Corpus Christi by a score of 7-3. Shreveport got off to a fast start, taking a 4-1 lead through the first two period as Vitale netted two goals and Jack Mack and Garrett Steele also scored for Shreveport, while Wolfgang Govedaris had the goal for the IceRays. In the 3rd period, the IceRays made it a 4-2 contest early in the frame with a goal from Jack Wandmacher, but the IceRays pulled away with Matthew Danziger, Kason Muscutt, and Logan Heroux. Blake Lewis had the IceRays’ third goal. Simon Bucheler made 29 saves in the win, while Thomas Kiesewetter made 29 saves in the loss.
Bismarck 3 @ Minot 4 – The Minotauros jumped out to an early lead and then held off a late Bobcats surge to pick up a 4-3 win on Thursday night. The Minotauros jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the 1st period with goals from Trevor Stachowiak, Chase LaPinta, and Justin Dauphinais. In the 2nd period, Bismarck got on the board with a goal from Kyle Doll, but the lead went back to three as Hunter Longhi scored his 10th of the season. In the 3rd period, Bismarck staged a comeback with goals from Landon Fleming and Calvin Hanson to make it 4-3, but that’s as close as they would get. Lawton Zacher made 28 saves in the win, while Hunter Garvey made 25 saves in the loss.
