Friday Finals: Coulee Region gets big win in St. Louis

Wenatchee goaltender Robert Nichols recorded his 4th shutout in just seven games as the Wild blanked Fairbanks.

Coulee Region 5 @ St. Louis 2 - Ben Jaremko scored twice and Aaron Davis made 31 saves as the Coulee Region Chill took down Midwest Division leader St. Louis 5-2 on Friday. Coulee Region snapped a three-game losing streak.  The Chill, who were swept at home by St. Louis Oct. 21-22, took a 2-0 lead in the first period only to have the Bandits tie it early in the third.  But Coulee Region responded with three unanswered goals by Jakob Batcha, David Ripple and Jaremko to seal the win.  Boxscore

Kalamazoo 2 @ Jamestown 5 - Anthony Coles and Jeff McFarland each had three points and Joe Ballmer made 39 saves and Jamestown won again at home.  Boxscore

Traverse City 5 @ Michigan 4 (SO) - NHL Central Scouting list member Kyle Schempp had two goals and Kyle Laslo stopped all Michigan shooters in the the shootout as the North Stars snapped a six-game skid with a road win over the Warriors.  Boxscore

Minot 1 @ Austin 4 - Christian Folin had three points as Austin cruised to a home win over the Minotauros to stay in 2nd place in the Central Division.  Boxscore

Springfield 3 @ Janesville 2 - Mike Williams power play goal in the 3rd period and 29 saves from Tyler Parks gave the Jr. Blues a 3-2 win in Janesville, handing the Jets their first regulation loss of the season.  Boxscore

Dawson Creek 3 @ Bismarck 4 (OT) - Francis DeAugustine scored the overtime winner as Bismarck improved to 12-3 on the season. Danny Ray and Donald Olivieri also had multi-point games for the Bobcats.  Boxscore

Aberdeen 0 @ Alexandria 2 - Blizzard goaltender Jacob Meyers stopped all 19 shots for his 1st shutout of the season as Alexandria blanked Aberdeen.  Boxscore

New Mexico 0 @ Texas 4 - Jordan Lovick, Justin and Jordan Greenberg all had multi-point nights as Texas shutout the Mustangs, netting goaltender Joakim Jutras his first NAHL shutout.  The win was Tony Curtale's 530th regular season win, setting the all-time U.S. junior hockey record.  Boxscore

Kenai River 2 @ Fresno 3 (SO) - It took 18 shooters, but the Monsters Kyle Sucher won the game in Fresno's home 2011-12 debut in a shootout.  Matt Thompson had both Brown Bears goals in the loss.  Boxscore

Wenatchee 3 @ Fairbanks 0 - Robert Nichols continues to be the hottest goaltender in the NAHL as he stopped all 32 Ice Dogs shots leading Wenatchee to their third straight win in a 3-0 road triumph in Fairbanks.  Max McHugh and Shawn Pauly each had three points in the win for Wenatchee.  Boxscore
