NAHL Weekend Preview

November 4, 2022

The first weekend in November has 25 games on the NAHL schedule as the 2022-23 season is past the quarter point for most teams.

It was another great week for NCAA commitments as several more players make NCAA Division I commitments as the current season total is now up to 127 committed players.

The month of November is a busy one for the NAHL, which includes the league-wide campaign for the Children of Fallen Patriots Foundation.

In addition, eight players with NAHL ties have been recognized on the National Hockey League’s (NHL) ‘Prospects to Watch’ list for 2023 draft-eligible players with the release of NHL Central Scouting's preliminary list of players to watch in North America and Europe.

In the Central Division, the division’s top two teams, Austin and Minot, who are tied for 1st place with 20 points each, will meet in a series in Minot. Right below those two are 3rd place North Iowa and 4th place Aberdeen, who meet for a two-game set in Mason City. The final series as Bismarck on the road in St. Cloud.

In the East, the Maine Nordiques put their four-game winning streak on the lone with a series in Philadelphia against the Rebels. The Johnstown Tomahawks look to snap their three-game skid as they are in Attleboro, MA, to take on the 2nd place Generals. The final series has Danbury in New Jersey to face the Titans as both teams are looking to snap three-game slides.

In the Midwest, the battle of Alaska continues as Fairbanks is in Anchorage to take on the Wolverines. A new state rivalry resumes in Wisconsin as the Chippewa Steel host the Wisconsin Windigo for two games. The 2nd place Janesville Jets are in Illinois to take on the Springfield Jr. Blues. The Minnesota Wilderness are in Alaska for a Saturday game at Kenai River and a Sunday game at Anchorage.

In the South, Amarillo and Oklahoma finish their series on Friday after the Warriors won 3-1 in Amarillo on Thursday. The New Mexico Ice Wolves put their three-game winning streak on the line as they host Shreveport. In El Paso, the Rhinos and the IceRays are both looking to snap extended losing streaks.
