Bismarck forward Hunter makes NCAA DI commitment

October 26, 2022

The Bismarck Bobcats of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that forward Evan Hunter has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Bemidji State University in the CCHA.

Hunter, 18, is in his second season of playing junior hockey and first season in the NAHL with the Bobcats. The 5’9/166 lbs. native of Appleton, WI, is currently leading the Bobcats in scoring so far during the 2022-23 season with 14 points (7 goals, 7 assists) in 12 games played.

“I am extremely excited and honored to announce my commitment to Bemidji State University. A big thank you to my family, friends, coaches and everyone who has helped along the way!” said Hunter on social media.

Hunter was named the NAHL’s Central Division Star of the Week back on September 26th as he had a six-point weekend in a road sweep of the Aberdeen Wings.

Prior to playing in the NAHL this season, Hunter spent last season in the USHL with the Chicago Steel. Prior to that he played youth hockey for the Green Bay Jr. Gamblers.
