Maine forward Gibbons makes NCAA DI commitment
The Maine Nordiques of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that forward Brendan Gibbons has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for the Air Force Academy in Atlantic Hockey.
Gibbons, 20, just completed his first season playing in the NAHL and second season of junior hockey. The 6’2/205 lbs. native of South Kingston, RI, ranked 7th in team scoring during the 2021-22 season with 34 points (20 goals, 14 assists) in 37 games played.
His 20 goals ranked 3rd on the team and he was also named the NAHL’s East Division Star of the Week for March 14-20, 2022.
“I’m honored and excited to announce my commitment to play college hockey and serve my country at the United States Air Force Academy. I’d like to thank my family, friends, coaches, and teammates that helped me along the way! I couldn’t have done it without any of you!” said Gibbons.
Prior to playing in the NAHL, Gibbons played youth hockey for the St. Mark’s School.
