Johnstown forward Murray makes NCAA commitment

The Johnstown Tomahawks of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that forward Zach Murray has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Amherst College.
Murray, 21, just completed his second and final season playing in the NAHL, which was mainly spent between the Tomahawks and the Fairbanks Ice Dogs.
The 6’3/180 lbs. native of Arlington, VA, began the 2021-22 season in Fairbanks playing for the Ice Dogs. In eight games to begin the season, he recorded seven points (5 goals, 2 assists). In early October, he was traded to Johnstown where he also put up some good numbers, which included 38 points (19 goals, 19 assists) in 53 regular season games.
Murray made his NAHL debut on January 3, 2020, with the Corpus Christi IceRays. He appeared in four games during the IceRays during that season and recorded one point.
While with Fairbanks in 2020-21, Murray appeared in 40 regular season games and recorded 16 points. In 105 career NAHL games, Murray recorded 62 points (28 goals, 34 points).
Prior to playing in the NAHL, Murray played one season in the NAPHL with the Washington Little Capitals 16U team during the 2017-18 season. He recorded 17 points in 21 NAPHL games.
