Lone Star defenseman Torres makes NCAA commitment

July 13, 2022

The Lone Star Brahmas of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that defenseman Aidan Torres has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

Torres, 21, just completed his third season of junior hockey and second season overall in the NAHL. The 5’10/211 lbs. native of Hingham, MA, put up six points (2 goals, 4 assists) in 45 regular season games during the 2021-22 season. Torres began the season playing in one game with the Jamestown Rebels in the NAHL Showcase.

“I am honored to announce my commitment to play college hockey at UW-River Falls. Thank you my family, friends, and coaches for helping me get to this point,” said Torres.

During the 2020-21 season, he recorded three points in 33 games with the Wichita Falls Warriors.

Prior to his time in the NAHL, Torres played for the New Jersey Jr. Titans 18U team, which included some games in the NAPHL during the 2019-20 season.

UW-River Falls, which is located 30 minutes from the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, plays in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) and are 19-time WIAC Champions. The three-time NCAA National Champions play their home games out of the brand new 65-million-dollar W.H. Hunt Arena, located directly on campus.
