Lone Star forward Smith makes NCAA commitment

The Lone Star Brahmas of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that forward Dylan Smith has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
Smith, 20, just completed his third and final season playing in the NAHL for the Brahmas. The 6’1/185 lbs. native of Plainfield, IL, had his career-best season in 2021-22 for Lone Star, recording 40 points (22 goals, 18 assists) in 57 regular season games. He also put up two points in nine Robertson Cup Playoff games.
Smith began his junior career in the NA3HL with the Texas Brahmas, appearing in 10 games at the start of the 2019-20 season and recording 12 points. He then joined the Lone Star Brahmas for the remainder of the season, appearing in 34 games and putting up three points.
During the 2020-21 season, Smith played in 52 regular season games and recorded 20 points. He was also selected to and played in the 2021 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament, where he had one point in two games played.
In 143 career NAHL games, Smith posted 63 career points.
UW-River Falls, which is located 30 minutes from the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, plays in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) and are 19-time WIAC Champions. The three-time NCAA National Champions play their home games out of the brand new 65-million-dollar W.H. Hunt Arena, located directly on campus.
