Shreveport forward Simpson makes NCAA commitment

The Shreveport Mudbugs of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that forward Burke Simpson has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.
Simpson, 20, just completed his third season of junior hockey and first season playing in the NAHL for the Mudbugs.
The 6’1/175 lbs. native of Mequon, WI, was third in team scoring during the 2021-22 regular season with 36 points (15 goals, 21 assists) in 45 games played.
Simpson also had three points in four Robertson Cup Playoff games.
Prior to playing in the NAHL, Simpson played youth hockey in Wisconsin for the Milwaukee Jr. Admirals. He also played for the Tier 1 Elite League East team at the 2019 NAHL 18U Top Prospects Tournament.
UW-River Falls, which is located 30 minutes from the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, plays in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) and are 19-time WIAC Champions. The three-time NCAA National Champions play their home games out of the brand new 65-million-dollar W.H. Hunt Arena, located directly on campus.
