Magicians defenseman Svenddal makes NCAA DI commitment

The Wisconsin Windigo (formerly the Minnesota Magicians) are pleased to announce that defenseman Will Svenddal has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Augustana University in the CCHA.
Svenddal, 20, just completed his second season playing in the NAHL, which was spent with the Magicians the past two seasons. The 6’0/195 lbs. native of Minneapolis, MN, had a solid season from the blueline, recording 30 points (3 goals, 27 assists) in 52 regular season games during the 2021-22 campaign.
“I’m proud to announce my commitment to further my education and play Division 1 Hockey at Augustana University! Thank you to my family, teammates, and coaches who have helped me along the way! Excited to start building something special with Coach Raboin and his staff,” said Svenddal.
Svenddal’s rookie campaign in the NAHL was with the Magicians in 2020-21, when he recorded seven points in 41 games played.
In two NAHL seasons, he appeared in 93 career NAHL games and recorded 37 points.
Augustana University is located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and is set to begin its first ever NCAA Division I hockey campaign in the fall of 2023. The Vikings will compete in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA). Augustana will become the first and only Division I hockey program in South Dakota.
