Springfield defenseman Gadowsky makes NCAA DI commitment
The Springfield Jr. Blues, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that defenseman Mac Gadowsky has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for Army-West Point in Atlantic Hockey.
The 6’2/170 lbs. native of State College, PA just concluded his first junior hockey season where he appeared in 22 games and recorded 2 goals and 10 assists for the Jr. Blues during the 2021-22 season.
Gadowsky, 20, battled through injuries in his first season, but contributed both on and off the ice throughout the season and he is expected to return for the 2022-23 season. Prior to his time in Springfield, Mac played for the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite 18U AAA team where he tallied 4 goals and 26 assists in 40 games.
“Mac is a very skilled blueliner who we have loved having here in Springfield,” said Head Coach Tyler Rennette. “He’s a phenomenal young man, both on and off the ice, and we are very proud of him for his commitment.”
Gadowsky joins Michael Valdez (Colorado College), Fisher Scott (Colorado College), Connor Smith (Union College), Hagen Moe (Bowling Green University), Joey Dosan (Army-West Point), and Ethan Roberts (St. Thomas University) as the 7th player from the 2021-22 season to commit to an NCAA Division 1 program.
