Danbury defenseman McCurdy makes NCAA DI commitment

The Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that defenseman Hunter McCurdy has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey for American International College in Atlantic Hockey.
McCurdy, 20, just completed his third and final season playing junior hockey in the NAHL. The 6’1/225 lbs. native of Mokena, IL, appeared in 58 games during the 2021-22 regular season and recorded nine points (2 goals, 7 assists).
“I am extremely proud and honored to announce my commitment to play Division 1 college hockey at American International College! I’d like to thank my family, friends, teammates, and coaches for all the support along the way!” stated McCurdy.
McCurdy began his junior hockey career during the 2019-20 season with the Springfield Jr. Blues. In 47 games during his rookie season, he recorded two goals.
The next year in 2020-21, he appeared in 51 games during the regular season and had five points (1 goal, 4 assists).
In 156 career NAHL games, McCurdy recorded 16 points.
Prior to playing in the NAHL, McCurdy spent three seasons playing youth hockey for the Chicago Fury.
