The Lone Star Brahmas of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that Top Prospects goaltender Arthur Smith has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey at Princeton University in the ECAC.

“I am excited and grateful to announce my commitment to further my education and play Division 1 college hockey at Princeton,” said Smith, regarding his commitment. “Thanks to my family, coaches, teachers and friends for making me better and believing in me! I’m really thankful to be a part of the Brahmas organization and am ready for playoffs.”

“This is a wonderful day for Arthur and his family,” said associate head coach of the Brahmas, Ryan Anderson. “From the day Arthur arrived in Brahmaland he has been exceptional. Arthur has a maturity and professionalism to him that you don’t find every day; he is one of the finest young men that I have ever had the chance to coach. Coach Fogarty and the rest of the Princeton staff are getting a goaltender who will be a leader on and off the ice. We are very excited for playoffs to start and know that Arthur is up to the challenge of backstopping our team to the Robertson Cup.”

Smith is the third player in Brahmas history to skate for Princeton, with alumni including Joe Berg (2015-2017) and Joey Fallon (2015-16). The program plays in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC).

Arthur Smith is the fourth DI NCAA commitment from the Brahmas current roster, with forward Jack Collings committing to UMass – Lowell, goalie Jan Skorpik committing to Long Island University and Artur Turansky committing to Miami University earlier this season. In the 2020-21 season, the Lone Star Brahmas was one of the top teams in the NAHL for college advancement with 20 commitments.
