NAHL alum Bussi signs NHL contract with Bruins
Boston Bruins General Manager Don Sweeney announced that the team has signed former NAHL goaltender Brandon Bussi to a one-year entry-level contract for the 2022-23 season with an NHL cap hit of $825,000.
Bussi will report to the Providence Bruins for the remainder of this season on an Amateur Tryout Agreement (ATO).
Bussi, 23, spent the last three seasons at Western Michigan University. The 6-foot-5, 209-pound goaltender appeared in 77 career NCAA games with the Broncos, posting a 46-25-5 record with a 2.61 goals against average and .910 save percentage.
The New Jersey Titans selected the Sound Beach, New York native in the 10th Round of the 2016 NAHL Draft. Bussi then played the first part of the season with the Titans, appearing in 15 games and posting a 7-4-2 record with a 3.21 goals against average and a .903 save percentage.
Bussi was then traded to the Amarillo Bulls midway through the season where he posted a 2-7-2 record in 13 games played with a 3.37 goals against average and a .906 save percentage.
Bussi would also begin the 2017-18 season playing the NAHL for the Bulls. He would later go onto play in the USHL and then Western Michigan.
