New Mexico forward Guerin makes NCAA commitment
The New Mexico Ice Wolves, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that forward Liam Guerin has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Hamline University.
Guerin, 20, is in his second and final season playing junior hockey in the NAHL for the Ice Wolves. The 6’4/190 lbs. native of Wayzata, MN, has appeared in 21 games so far this season and recorded two points.
“We’re extremely excited for Liam on his commitment to Hamline University. Liam has worked hard and has shown that he is a team first guy. I can’t say enough good things about having a guy like Liam on our team and the impact he has with his teammates and staff. He’s going to be a great asset to that Hamline roster,” said New Mexico head coach Phil Fox.
During the 2020-21 season, Guerin played in 10 games with the Ice Wolves.
Prior to playing in the NAHL for New Mexico, Guerin spent this season playing prep hockey at Salisbury School, where he recorded an assist in 21 games. He also has an assist in seven games with the Yale Jr. Bulldogs Blue. Prior to attending Salisbury, Guerin played high school hockey at Sewickley Academy, where he put up 10 goals and 12 assists for 22 points in 19 games.
