Sunday Wrap-Up: Ice Wolves stay hot with sixth straight win

New Mexico 3 @ El Paso 0 – The Ice Wolves completed a three-game sweep of the Rhinos as goaltender Beni Halasz made 20 saves for his league-leading 6th shutout of the season in a 3-0 win. The Ice Wolves opened the scoring in the 1st period thanks to a power play goal from Dillan Bentley. The lead increased to 2-0 in the 2nd period as Nicloas Haviar scored his 9th goal of the season. In the 3rd period, Brandon Holt completed the scoring with his 10th goal of the season. El Paso goalie Jacob Zacharewicz made 46 saves in the loss.

Maine 3 @ Northeast 2 – Avery Sturtz made 30 saves to lead the Nordiques to a 3-2 road win in Northeast on Sunday. The Nordiques struck first thanks to a 1st period goal from Aidan Connolly. Each team then scored twice in the 2nd period, as the Generals made it a close contest with goals from Jared Scott and Paul Minnehan, but the Nordiques maintained the edge with goals from Ignat Belov and Brandon Gibbons, who ended up with the game-winning goal. Generals goalie Cullen DeYoung made 44 saves in the loss.

Shreveport 3 @ Wichita Falls 2 – The Mudbugs were able to salvage one win in their three-game series in Wichita Falls thanks to a 3-2 win on Sunday. Lukas Sedlacek scored two goals for the Mudbugs in the win. After a scoreless 1st period, the Mudbugs scored two goals in the 2nd period from Connor Gatto and Sedlacek. The lead swelled to 3-0 in the 3rd period as Sedlacek scored again. The Wildcats then got two goals from Garrett Horsager and Hunter Jones to pull to within 3-2, but could not find the equalizer. Simon Bucheler made 31 saves in the win, while Daniel Duris made 32 saves in the loss.
