“Proud to announce that I have committed to play Division 1 college hockey at Western Michigan University. Thanks to my family, coaches, teammates and friends that have help me along the way! #GoBroncos #NCHC #CollegeHockey,” said Rexine
Rexine is currently riding a seven-game point streak in which he has recorded 15 points during that time.
“We are really excited for Niko. It's been amazing just seeing how much he has taken his game to another level since he arrived last fall. Niko has just scratched the surface of where his game can go. Western Michigan is an outstanding institution and we couldn't be more excited to see another one of our players play for such an outstanding program in the best league in NCAA Hockey,” said Wilderness head coach Dave Boitz.
Prior to playing in the NAHL, Rexine played youth hockey for the Rochester Coalition and prep hockey for the Millbrook School.
