Kenai River forward Morgan makes NCAA commitment
The Kenai River Brown Bears of the NAHL are pleased to announce that Top Prospects forward Peter Morgan has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for SUNY-Geneseo.
Morgan, 21, just completed an extended NAHL career, which spanned three seasons in the NAHL and two seasons in the NAPHL prior to that.
The 5’6/165 lbs. native of Sarasota, Florida, was 2nd in team scoring during the 2020-21 season, recording 39 points (13 goals, 26 assists) in 44 games played during the regular season. Morgan also chipped in eight points in nine playoff games helping the Brown Bears get to the Midwest Division Finals, where they lost in five games to the Minnesota Magicians.
Morgan was also selected to and played in the 2021 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament for the Midwest Division team.
During the 2019-20 season, Morgan played for three teams. He began the season with the Aberdeen Wings and was later traded to the Amarillo Bulls, and then finished the season with Kenai River. In 50 regular season games during the 2019-20 season, Morgan finished with 45 points.
Morgan spent his rookie NAHL season with the Aberdeen Wings in 2018-19 and was part of the team’s Robertson Cup Championship in 2019.
Overall in three NAHL seasons, Morgan appeared in 133 career games and had 105 points.
Prior to playing in the NAHL, Morgan spent two seasons playing the NAPHL with the Tampa Scorpions, which included playing in the 2018 NAPHL 18U All-Star Game.
