Maine forward Pierre makes NCAA commitment

June 29, 2021

The Maine Nordiques of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that forward Donte Pierre has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for Connecticut College.

Pierre, 20, came to the Nordiques at the beginning of the season as a first-year junior player, having spent the three previous seasons at Kimball Union Academy. The 5’11/185 lbs. native of Brooklyn, NY, earned his spot on the team right from training camp and brought some grit and depth to the Nordiques.

Pierre started the season by wasting no time in recording his first point. On his game with the Nordiques he would find Connor Wood who would rifle a shot home for the first goal of the season making Donte’s assist go down in the books as the assist that got the first goal for the Nords on the season.

Donte was a reliable option for Head Coach Nolan Howe in the playoffs, he was able to generate six shots in his three games played; with at least one shot in all three of his playoff games. Donte also suited up in the last game of the season against the Shreveport Mudbugs who went onto capture The Robertson Cup.

The Maine Nordiques would like to wish Donte the best of luck at the next level.
