Chippewa forward Baker makes NCAA commitment
The Chippewa Steel of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that forward Brockton Baker has committed to play NCAA Division III hockey for St. Norbert College.
Baker, 20, just completed his first season of playing with the Steel in the NAHL and third season of junior hockey overall. The 5’10/165 lbs. native of Verona, WI played in 47 games for the Steel during the 20-21 season, recording 10 goals and 12 assists.
“I am very excited for Brockton, he is going to a great academic school with a history of success on the ice. He is a tremendous leader and has a great work ethic. I am excited to watch him play at St. Norbert,” stated Steel Head Coach & General Manager Mike Janda.
Baker briefly played in the NAPHL during the 2016-17 season for the Omaha AAA 16U team. After playing for Team Wisconsin and Verona Area High, he played two seasons in the USHL from 2018-20 before joining the Steel this season.
