Shreveport, Danbury, and Lone Star win on Tuesday

Danbury forward Adam Shuchart scored the game-winning goal with 0.9 seconds remaining in regulation on Tuesday.

Shreveport 4 @ Amarillo 1 – Mudbugs forward Braiden Dorfman had a hat-trick to lead his team to their third straight win in a 4-1 win in Amarillo on Tuesday.  Shreveport would strike first with a Dorfman power-play goal at the 12:28 mark of the opening period. The Bulls would get a power-play chance early in the second and Jere Vaisanen would score his 15th goal of the year at the 5:10 mark of the second period to even the game at 1-1. Later in the period, Braiden Dorfman would score his second goal of the game following a Bulls turnover in their own zone to give the Mudbugs a 2-to-1 lead going into the third period. Late in the 3rd period, Shreveport put the game on ice as Matt Vermaeten short-handed goal to give Shreveport a two-goal lead with only five minutes remaining. A Dorfman empty-net goal would secure a hat trick and a 4-to-1 road victory for Shreveport to give the Bulls their third straight loss. Mudbugs goalie Cole Hudson was stellar in the win, making a season-high 40 saves and allowing just a single goal. Bulls goalie Andrew Takacs made 31 saves in the loss.

Maryland 2 @ Danbury 3 - The Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks needed a regulation win and got one…with 0.9 seconds remaining. Adam Shuchart banged home the game-winner in the final moments of the third period to steal a 3-2 victory from the Maryland Black Bears. Alexi Van Houtte-Cachero opened the scoring for Danbury, wiring a wrist shot past rookie netminder Tristan Mecenas halfway through the first period. Mark D’Agostino would bury his own rebound in the final minute of the opening frame to give the Jr. Hat Tricks a 2-0 lead heading into the intermission.vMaryland came roaring back in the second, as Luke Mountain potted a breakaway goal early in the period to get the Black Bears on the board. Grady Friedman would sneak one past Danbury netminder Edvard Nordlund to bring the game back to 2-2 minutes later. Edvard Nordlund stopped 18 of 20 in the win, earning his team-leading eighth victory of the season. Mecenas made 22 saves in the loss, which was his NAHL debut.

Wichita Falls 1 @ Lone Star 2 – Brahmas goalie Graham Burke made 18 saves to lead his team to a 2-1 win on Tuesday over the visiting Warriors. All the scoring came in the 2nd period. The Brahmas jumped ahead 1-0 on a power play goal from Dawson Tritt, which was his 8th goal of the season. Less than two minutes later, the Brahmas struck again on the power play as this time Joey Baez scored his 17th goal of the season to make it 2-0. Before the period was done, the Warriors got on the board, also via the power play as Owen Baumgartner would net his 5th goal of the season, which completed the scoring in the contest. Warriors goalie Owen Bartoszkiewicz made 19 saves in the loss.
