Friday Finals: Johnstown makes statement in East

Drew Vieten had a hat-trick on Friday night as Wichita Falls shutout Odessa, 5-0.

Johnstown 8 @ Maine 1 - Eight different Tomahawks found the back of the net as Johnstown destroyed the Maine Nordiques 8-1. Reed Stark led the way with a goal and three assists while Alex Gritz had a goal and two assists. Jay Ahearn, Brendan Clark and Will Margel continued their strong play as they each tallied a goal and an assist. Anthony Mastromonica and Daniel Tkac also found the back of the net for Johnstown. Josh Graziano grabbed the win in goal as he made 32 saves. Isaiah Fox had the lone goal for Maine while Avery Sturtz and Tyriq Outen combined for 26 saves in the loss.

Wichita Falls 5 @ Odessa 0 - Drew Vieten tallied a hat trick while Owen Bartoszkiewicz made 22 saves as the Wichita Falls Warriors shutout the Odessa Jackalopes 5-0. Thomas Weis had a goal and an assist while Cade Lemmer also found the back of the net for the Warriors. Riley Brueck grabbed two helpers on the evening for Wichita Falls. Connor Hasley made 30 saves for the Jackalopes as he was dealt the loss.

New Jersey 0 @ Maryland 4 - Hannes Kollen stopped all 27 shots fired in his direction as the Maryland Black Bears shutout the New Jersey Titans 4-0. Conor Cole led the offense with a goal and two assists while Josh Nixon had a goal and an assist of his own. Jack Hillman and Philip Tornqvist found the back of the net as well for the Black Bears. Christian Stoever took the loss in goal as he made 34 saves for the Titans.

Danbury 3 @ Northeast 8 - David Andreychuk and Ricky Boysen each lit the lamp and added an assist as the Generals dominated the Jr. Starss 8-3. Jonathan Young registered a goal and an assist for Northeast while Jake Dunlap had a goal and an assist while Liam McCanney and Dalton Wright both got on the scoresheet as well. Hugo Haas got the win in goal as he made 17 saves while Josh Seeley took the loss in as he made 38 stops.

Minot 5 @ St. Cloud 4 - Blaine Warnert scored with just 27 seconds remaining in regulation as the Minot Minotauros outlasted the St. Cloud Norsemen 5-4.  Ethan Schmunk logged two goals and an assist as he led the Minot offense. Brett Roloson grabbed a goal and an assist of his own while Cole Stofflet also scored for Minot. Nick Young and Max Strand logged their first goals of the year while Cooper Gay and Gunnar Johnson also scored for St. Cloud. Keenan Rancier grabbed the win in goal as he made 37 saves while Paxton Geisel made 23 saves and picked up an assist in the loss for the Norsemen.

Chippewa 6 @ Kenai River 2 - The Chippewa Steel won their second straight game against the Kenai River Brown Bears, this time by a score of 6-2. Liam Hansson led all skaters with a goal and three assists while Ryan Kerchoff had a goal and two helpers. Ethan Janda and Jack Brown each logged a goal and an assist in the win. Brockton Baker also found himself on the scoresheet for Chippewa. Berk Berkeliev improved to 13-12-5 on the year as he made 22 saves. Max Helgeson had a goal and an assist for Kenai River while Laudon Poellinger netted his eighth goal of the season. Luke Pavicich stopped 27 shots in the loss for the Brown Bears.

Shreveport 4 @ Amarillo 0 - Arseniy Sergeev picked up his first NAHL shutout as the Shreveport Mudbugs blanked the Amarillo Bulls 4-0. Joe Mack and Connor Gatto continued their strong play as Mack had a goal and an assist while Gatto also scored for Shreveport. Billy Feczko and Giovanni Procopio also lit the lamp for the Mudbugs in the win. Andrew Takacs stopped 31 shots in a losing effort for the Bulls.

MN Wilderness 0 @ Aberdeen 3 - Jake Sibell pitched his league leading ninth shutout as the Aberdeen Wings shut down the Minnesota Wilderness 3-0. Spencer Schneider broke the scoreless tie a few minutes into the second period with Jordan Randall providing insurance in the opening minutes of the third. Nathan Mann chipped in his sixth goal of the season to bring the lead to 3. Kaleb Johnson played very well for the Wilderness as he stopped 34 shots fired in his direction.

Austin 2 @ Bismarck 3 - Luke Gramer’s third period tally proved to be the game winner as the Bismarck Bobcats squeaked past the Austin Bruins 3-2. Thomas Bergsland scored his second goal of the night just before Gramer’s goal to tie just past the midway point of the final period. Walter Zacher and Connor Mylymok provided the offense for Austin with their 10th and seven goals respectively. Tommy Aitken grabbed the win in between the pipes as he stopped 21 shots. Tyler Shea was given the loss in net despite making 26 stops.

MN Magicians 3 @ Fairbanks 2 - Three straight tallies from the Minnesota Magicians was just enough as they beat the Fairbanks Ice Dogs 3-2. Mason Hendrickson’s first goal of the season came as the team was shorthanded and tied the game up at one goal apiece. Will Svenddal would give the Magicians the lead for the first time with just under five minutes remaining in the second period. Hunter Longhi would add his 15th goal of the season to give his team some much needed insurance. Austin Becker and Jack Ring lit the lamp for Fairbanks in a losing effort. Andy Beran picked up the win in the blue paint as he stopped 35 shots. Ryan Keyes was dealt the loss as he made 24 stops.
