New Jersey forward Ford makes NCAA DI commitment

February 16, 2021

The New Jersey Titans, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that forward Jack Ford has committed to play NCAA Division I Ice Hockey for the United States Military Academy (Army West Point) Black Knights, who play in Atlantic Hockey.

Ford, 18, is in his first season with the Titans. The Hockessin, DE native has fourteen points (5 goals and 9 assists) in 15 games played. He was named the NAHL’s East Division’s Star of the Week for week ending January 10.

“I want to thank my mom and dad for giving me every opportunity to play the game of hockey,: stated Ford. “They have given up so much to allow me to pursue my dreams. I also wanted to thank my coaches and everyone else that has helped develop me into the man and player I am today. I especially want to thank Craig Doremus for believing in me and giving me the privilege of representing the New Jersey Titans. I am extremely excited to play hockey at Army and serve my country.”

“We couldn’t be prouder of Jack on his commitment,” stated Titans head coach and general manager Craig Doremus. “From day one when we recruited Jack, he made it known that West Point was a dream of his. He wanted to do whatever it took to achieve his goals.  Jack has worked long and hard to get into our lineup and then continued to work while contributing to our offensive attack.  Jack has put the hours and hours of extra work in this year to raise his game and it has paid off as he has risen on our team and has been a constant point producer since being inserted into the lineup regularly.  Jack knows he has a lot of work to do before going to college, but this was an important first step.  We look forward to Jack continuing to grow, mature and develop as a Titan and be a huge part of our team here as we chase down a playoff berth.”

Army West Point is in West Point, NY. The Black Knights are coached by Brian Riley. Army currently has an overall record of 10-3-2.
