February 12, 2021

It is Valentine’s weekend across the NAHL landscape, and as the temperatures drop outside, the action will continue to heat up inside with 16 games.

It was another great week for NCAA Division I commitments, as four more players announced their commitments to the next level. That brings bringing the current season total to 249  players who playing in the league and are committed to playing NCAA Division I hockey in 2020-21.

It has been a busy week in the NAHL leading up to this weekend. There were two games during each day this week, including action in the Central, East, and Midwest Divisions as teams continue their march towards the Robertson Cup Playoffs.

In the Central Division this weekend, the Aberdeen Wings put their 23-1-1 record on the line with a two-game set in Austin against the Bruins. The red-hot and 2nd place Bismarck Bobcats put their six-game winning streak on the line as they host the St. Cloud Norsemen. Finally, the 3rd place Minot Minotauros put their three-game winning streak on the line as they host the Minnesota Wilderness for a pair of games.

In the East Division, most of the action took place during the week, but there is one weekend series as the Johnstown Tomahawks are looking to regain 1st place in a series against the Maryland Black Bears.

In the Midwest, things got started early with the Chippewa Steel beating the Fairbanks Ice Dogs on Thursday, 4-2. The two teams will play two more times this weekend in Chippewa. The Kenai River Brown Bears will travel to Richfield to take on the Minnesota Magicians in a three-game set, which includes the lone NAHL game on Sunday. The Janesville Jets are idle.

In the South Division, the 1st place Shreveport Mudbugs face a tough challenge as they host the Amarillo Bulls, who are 9-0-1 in their last 10 games. The Lone Star Brahmas will try and slow down the Wichita Falls Warriors, who have won six straight, with one game on Saturday in North Richland Hills. Both New Mexico and Odessa are idle.
