Friday Finals: Johnson helps Wilderness top Wings

Odessa forward Dane Hoyord had two goals and an assist to help the Jackalopes get back in the win column with a 3-1 win on Friday.

MN Wilderness 3 @ Aberdeen 2 (SO) - The Minnesota Wilderness handed the Aberdeen Wings their second loss of the season as the Wilderness topped the Wings 3-2 in the shootout. Grant Docter and Christian Galatz scored for the Wilderness in regulation before Christian Galatz netted the game deciding goal. Cullen Ferguson and Cade Neilson scored for Aberdeen while Jake Sibell suffered his first loss of the season. Kaleb Johnson was incredible as he made 46 saves to limit the Aberdeen offense.

Bismarck 4 @ St. Cloud 2 - Austin Schwartz found the back of the net twice as the Bismarck Bobcats doubled up the St. Cloud Norsemen 4-2 on Friday night. Will Magnuson and Ben Troumbly also scored for Bismarck in the victory. Jack Suchy and Jordan Halverson were the goal scorers for St. Cloud. Cameron Korpi made 19 saves to improve to 7-2 on the season. Paxton Geisel took the loss in goal as he made 27 stops.

Lone Star 3 @ Wichita Falls 4 - The Wichita Falls Warriors increased their winning streak to six straight games as they held off the Lone Star Brahmas 4-3. Drew Vieten led the offense with a goal and an assist. Cade Lemmer, Carter Korpi and Jackson Wozniak all found the back of the net for the Warriors. Owen Nolan grabbed his first as a Brahma while Matt McDonald and Andrew DeCarlo also lit the lamp. Owen Bartoszkiewicz grabbed the win in goal as he denied 15 shots. Guy Blessing suffered his first loss of the year as he made 27 saves for Lone Star.

Fairbanks 5 @ Austin 3 - The Fairbanks Ice Dogs continued their success on the offensive end of the ice as they netted five goals in a 5-3 win over the Austin Bruins. Andrew Garby and Jasper Lester each had a goal and an assist for Fairbanks. Jack Ring, Austin Becker and Laker Aldridge all got on the scoresheet for the Ice Dogs. Jacob Conrad and Owen Neuharth each registered two assists. Kayden Hargraves picked up the win in blue paint as he made 24 saves. Alex Troumbly, Walter Zacher and Garrett Dahm all visited the red light district for Austin. Hudson Hodges made 26 saves in a losing effort.

Shreveport 2 @ Amarillo 1 (SO) - Arseni Sergeyev was sensational for the Shreveport Mudbugs as he made 63 saves en route to leading the team to a 2-1 win over the Amarillo Bulls. Sean Bunting scored the only goal in regulation for the Mudbugs while Matt Weber netted the only tally in the shootout. Harrison Scott netted the lone goal for Amarillo as they saw their long winning streak come to an end. Sergeyev improved to 3-1 on the year after stopping a career high shots and every shooter in the skills competition. Hunter Garvey made given the loss as he made 35 saves for the Bulls.

New Mexico 1 @ Odessa 3 - The Odessa Jackalopes brought their long losing streak to an end on Friday night as they topped the New Mexico Ice Wolves 3-1. Dayne Hoyord was the catalyst for the Odessa offense as he scored twice and assisted on the other goal. Gabe Bennett also found the back of the net for Odessa while DJ Hart had the other helper. Mack Motzko tallied the only goal for New Mexico. Cooper Black picked up the win in between the pipes as he made 28 stops. Owen Parker was dealt his second loss of the season as he made 19 saves.

Minot 4 @ Kenai River 2 - Tyler Kostelecky potted a pair of goals and added an assist as the Minot Minotauros defeated the Kenai River Brown Bears 4-2 on Friday night. Brett Roloson and Kaiden Scott lit the lamp for Minot in the victory. Peter Morgan and Daymin Dodge tickled the twine for Kenai River in a losing effort. Keenan Rancier was able to make 20 saves on 22 shots on goal. Luke Pavicich saw his personal winning streak come to an end as made 26 stops in the loss.
