Generals, Brown Bears pick up wins on Sunday
Northeast 6 @ New Jersey 3 – Thanks to a fast start, the Northeast Generals picked up a 6-3 win in New Jersey on Sunday, taking home three of a possible four points in the series. The Generals led 3-0 just over seven minutes into the game with goals from Alex Davis, Tyler Cooper, and Liam McCanney. The Titans cut into the lead to make it 3-2 before the end of the period with goals from Anthony Calafiore and Jake LaRusso. The Generals put the game out of reach later in the contest with a 2nd period goal from Alexander Tertshny and two more in the 3rd period from Matthew Yeager and David Andreychuk. Blake Humphrey scored the other Titans goal. Generals goalie Anton Castro improved his season record to 3-2-0 with 33 saves, while Louden Hogg took the loss with 18 saves.
Kenai River 4 @ MN Wilderness 0 – Brown Bears goalie Luke Pavicich stopped all 44 shots that came his way for his second shutout of the season as the Brown Bears snapped their small two-game slide with a 4-0 win in Cloquet on Sunday. The Brown Bears opened the scoring early in the 1st period with a goal from Lucas Wahlin. The lead swelled to 3-0 in the 2nd period as Laudon Poellinger and Max Helgeson scored. Porter Schachle added a goal in the 3rd period to complete the scoring. Wilderness goalie Kaleb Johnson made 17 saves in the loss before being replaced by Jacob Zacharewicz, who stopped all 20 shots that came his way.
