Amarillo forward Fensterstock makes NCAA DI commitment
The Amarillo Bulls of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are proud to announce that Top Prospects forward Cooper Fensterstock has committed to play NCAA Division I hockey at Army-West Point next season.
The 6’0/180 lbs. native of Charlotte, North Carolina is currently in his third year playing in the NAHL with the Bulls. Through his first 15 games of the 2020-21 season, Fensterstock leads the team with 14 points (2 goals, 12 assists).
“I’m really excited to commit to West Point. I think it’s an unbelievable opportunity for me to grow as a student-athlete and as a person,” Fensterstock said. Fensterstock is the seventh player on this year’s roster to commit to playing collegiate hockey next season.
Fensterstock first joined the Bulls in the 2017-18 season and made his mark in 2018-19 with 8 goals and 27 assists in the regular season and 8 total points in the playoffs. He also was selected to and played in the 2019 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament for the South Division team.
“I would like to congratulate Cooper on his commitment to Army,” Bulls Head Coach Rocky Russo said. “Becoming a student-athlete at West Point is an incredible opportunity that is not available to many players. The chance to represent such a prestigious program is truly very special. Our entire organization is very proud of Cooper and excited for him and his family. I have no doubt that Coach Riley and his staff are adding a fantastic hockey player and person to their program.”
“I have no doubt my time in Amarillo has prepared me for this next step,” Fensterstock said. “I’d like to thank my parents, Coach Russo and Coach Lewis as well as the entire Amarillo Bulls organization and fan base for helping me reach this goal.”
