Saturday Scores: Bulls join South contenders with sweep

Kenai River forward David Vieten had two goals in a 4-1 win on Saturday to help the Brown Bears complete a road sweep in Minot.

Amarillo 5 @ Wichita Falls 2 - The Amarillo Bulls completed the sweep of the Wichita Falls Warriors as they took home a 5-2 decision on Saturday. Harrison Scott and Jordan Venegoni led Amarillo with a goal and an assist. Carter Rapalje, Casey Roepke and Tyler Sedlak all found the back of the net in the victory. Vincent Corcoran and Joseph Harguindeguy were the goal scorers for the Warriors. Cal Sandquist improved to 7-3-3 on the year as he made 27 saves. Owen Bartoszkiewicz took the loss in net for Wichita Falls, making 28 stops.

Kenai River 4 @ Minot 1 - The Kenai River Brown Bears finished off the sweep of the Minot Minotauros as the won 4-1 on Saturday night. David Vieten’s two goals led the Brown Bears offense. Brandon Lajoie and Lucas Wahlin both tallied goals for Kenai River. Luke Pavicich was magnificent as he made 40 stops for his fifth win of the season. Logan Anderson was the only Minotauro to get on the scoresheet while Keenan Rancier made 43 saves in the loss.

St. Cloud 0 @ Aberdeen 4 - It was a perfect weekend for Jake Sibell as he notched his second consecutive shutout and sixth of the season, leading the Aberdeen Wings to a 4-0 victory. Payton Matsui and Spencer Schneider each had a goal and an assist. Clayton Cosentino and Cade Neilson also found the scoresheet for Aberdeen. Cullen Ferguson chipped in three helpers. Paxton Geisel made 40 saves in the loss for St. Cloud.

Odessa 2 @ Lone Star 4 - Luke Johnson’s two goals were the catalyst for the Lone Star Brahmas offense as they doubled up the Odessa Jackalopes 4-2. Andrew DeCarlo contributed a goal and an assist for the Brahmas. Frederick Paine also scored for Lone Star. Alex Konovalov had a goal and an assist for Odessa while DJ Hart also found the back of the net. Rico Dimatteo saw his record improve to 6-2-1 as he made 19 saves. Connor Hasley stopped 23 shots in a losing effort.

Johnstown 6 @ New Jersey 3 - The Johnstown Tomahawks earned a weekend series split as they defeated the New Jersey Titans 6-3 on Saturday night. Jay Ahearn and Max Neill each found the back of the net twice for Johnstown. Ryan Poorman added a goal and an assist while Daniel Tkac also found the back of the net. Jack Ford led the Titans with a goal and an assist. Connor Pelc and Evan Werner each chipped in a goal as well. Peyton Grainer stopped 28 shots to earn the victory while Berk Berkeliev turned aside 25 opportunities.

MN Wilderness 2 @ Janesville 3 - Shane Ott scored with just two seconds remaining to propel the Janesville Jets to a 3-2 win over the Minnesota Wilderness. The game winner was Ott’s second goal of the game and sixth of the season. Will Troutwine scored the opening goal for Janesville, his first of the year. Caydon Meyer and Brendan Sloth each scored their first goals of the year for the Wilderness. Owen Millward stopped 33 shots in the victory for Janesville while Jacob Zacharewicz stopped 29 of 32 shots for Minnesota.

New Mexico 2 @ Shreveport 5 - Billy Feczko potted a pair of goals to lead the Shreveport offense as the Mudbugs took down the Ice Wolves 5-2. Braiden Dorfman contributed a goal and an assist for Shreveport. Garrett Steele and Matt Weber each chipped in a goal as well. Nikolai Dulak and Alex Gomez lit the lamp for the Ice Wolves. Luca Di Pasquo denied 22 shots to pick up the win in the blue paint. Beni Halasz and Josh Graziano combined to stop 32 shots for New Mexico.

Fairbanks 1 @ Bismarck 5 - Jack Conroy registered a three-point night as the Bismarck Bobcats dropped the Fairbanks Ice Dogs 5-1. George Grannis netted a pair of goals for Bismarck while Jon Ziskie had a goal and an assist. Lars Rodne tallied a goal as well for the Bobcats. Barak Braslavski netted the lone goal for Fairbanks. Cameron Korpi was great in between the pipes for Bismarck as he made 27 saves. Kayden Hargraves was dealt the loss, he stopped 21 shots.
