Friday Finals: Jets double up Brown Bears to widen Midwest lead

Shreveport goalie Cole Hudson made 33 saves in a 3-1 win on Friday night and improved his season record to 9-1-2.

Kenai River 3 @ Janesville 6 - The Janesville Jets offense was led by Charlie Schoen’s three points as they doubled up the Kenai River Brown Bears 6-3. Schoen’s two goals and one assist was the best among all skaters. Cade Destefani and Jaxon Ezman each had a goal and an assist. Dominik Bartecko and Carter Hottman also tallied goals for the Jets. Riley Sims got the win in between the pipes as he made 31 saves. Max Helgeson had a goal and an assist for Kenai River while Brandon Lajoie and Lucas Wahlin also found the back of the net. Danny Fraga and Luke Pavicich teamed up to make 33 stops.

Wichita Falls 1 @ Shreveport 3 - Cole Hudson stopped 33 of the 34 shots fired his way as the Shreveport Mudbugs defeated the Wichita Falls Warriors 3-1. Giovanni Procopio didn’t wait long to find the scoresheet as he netted his fifth of the season to break the ice. The Warriors would get on the board just a short time later as Cole Teleki found the back of the net for the first time this season. Braiden Dorfman and Jacob Onstott would light the lamp in the second period and that’s all the offense Shreveport would need. Owen Bartoszkiewicz was sensational in goal as he made 45 saves.

Maine 4 @ Northeast 3 - Cannon Green had a goal and two assists to lead the Maine Nordiques to a 4-3 win over the Northeast Generals. Makem Demers scored the game winning early in the third period and also added an assist. Stefan Owens had a goal and an assist of his own while Jack Strauss also chipped in a goal. Tyriq Outen grabbed the win in goal as he made 36 saves. Liam McCanney and Dylan Schuett each had a goal and an assist for the Generals. Bobby Metz scored in the loss while Aidan Curran had two assists. Anton Castro and Hugo Haas combined for 34 saves for Northeast.

Maryland 4 @ New Jersey 1 – Newcomer Jack Bracket potted a pair of goals in his NAHL debut as the Maryland Black Bears took care of the New Jersey Titans 4-1. Luke Mountain and Hunter McCoy also found the back of the net while Jack Hillman grabbed himself two assists. Michael Morelli improved to 7-3-2 as he turned aside 22 New Jersey saves. Evan Werner scored the lone goal for the Titans while Louden Hogg made 19 saves in a losing effort.

Fairbanks 5 @ MN Magicians 1 - Mason Plante scored twice as the Fairbanks Ice Dogs handed the Minnesota Magicians their first loss of the season, beating them 5-1. Zachary Murray, Tyler Herzberg and Brendan Miles all lit the lamp for the Ice Dogs in the victory. Kayden Hargraves picked up his third win of the year as he made 29 saves. Hunter Longhi scored the only goal for the Magicians while Andy Beran stopped 28 shots.

Lone Star 0 @ Amarillo 1 (play suspended) – Play was suspended after two periods due to unplayable ice conditions. The game will be completed on Saturday.
