Bulls pick up weekend sweep with win on Sunday

Amarillo goalie Cal Sandquist stopped 46 of 49 shots in a weekend sweep of New Mexico.

New Mexico 2 @ Amarillo 4 – Four different players scored and Cal Sandquist made 18 saves as the Bulls completed a weekend home sweep of the visiting Ice Wolves with a 4-2 win in the lone NAHL game on Sunday.

In an active 1st period, the Bulls took a 1-0 lead on Max Scott’s second goal of the season. The Ice Wolves were quick to respond later in the period with back-to-back goals from Brandon Holt and Jack Whitmore to take a 2-1 lead.

The Bulls would regain their one-goal edge back in the 2nd period as goals from Ryan Coughlin and Tyler Sedlak made it 3-2.

Paul Schmid would add an empty-net goal late in the 3rd period to secure the win. Cooper Fensterstock picked up two assists in the win.

New Mexico goalie Henrik Laursen made 41 saves in the loss.
