Fairbanks forward Link makes NCAA D1 commitment
The Fairbanks Ice Dogs of the North American Hockey League (NAHL) are pleased to announce that Top Prospects forward and NAPHL grad Bret Link has committed to play NCAA Division 1 hockey for the University of Alaska-Fairbanks in the WCHA.
Link, 18, is in his second full season playing for the Ice Dogs. So far in four games during the 2020-21 season, the 6’2/180 lbs. native of Anchorage, Alaska, has recorded two assists.

Link played in 47 regular season games during the 2019-20 season and recorded 15 points (6 goals, 9 assists). He was also selected to and played in the 2020 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament for the Selects Red team where he had one goal in two games played during the event. He made is NAHL debut on March 30, 2019.
Link had signed a tender with the Ice Dogs during the 2018-19 season while playing in the NAPHL for the Alaska Oilers 16U team. During that season, Link was named to the All-NAPHL 16U 1st Team and was 3rd in team scoring and 6th in NAPHL 16U scoring with 29 points (14 goals, 15 assists) in 17 games played.
During the 2017-18 season, Link played for the Oilers 15U team in the NAPHL, which went unbeaten in regulation during the season. He had 12 points in nine games played.
