Amarillo forward Venegoni makes NCAA D1 commitment

May 4, 2020
The Amarillo Bulls of the North American Hockey League are pleased to announce that forward Jordan Venegoni has committed to play NCAA Division 1 hockey for Lake Superior State University Lakers in the WCHA.

Venegoni, 19, made huge strides during the 2019-20 season, finishing 2nd in team scoring. The 6’0/183 lbs. native of Livonia, Michigan, posted 27 goals, 24 assists, and 51 total points in 54 games.

Venegoni has been with the Bulls since the 2017-18 season. Since joining the Bulls, Venegoni has amassed 61 points in 110 career games.

“I am very honored to be given this privilege to play Division 1 hockey and continuing my academics and athletics at Lake Superior State University. I‘d like thank the Amarillo bulls for all they have done for me and help me get to the point I am now. It’s every kids dream to play at the division 1 level and I get to that opportunity in which I couldn’t be more grateful,” said Venegoni.

While the talented Venegoni has spent his past three seasons in a Bulls’ sweater, the plan is to have him back as one of the leaders for the 2020-21 season.

“We are so proud of Jordan and excited for his entire family. Jordan has been a part of the Amarillo family since I returned in 2017. We have watched him develop as a player and a young man, and are thrilled to see him reach his goal of being a student-athlete at the NCAA Division 1 level. Lake Superior St is a great fit for Jordan as a student and as a hockey player. Coach Whitten and his staff are doing a great job of recruiting and Jordan will be an excellent addition to their program. We are also thrilled to be able to welcome Jordan back to Amarillo for the 2020-21 season and look forward to him being one of our leaders and top performing players,” said Bulls head coach Rocky Russo.
