New Jersey forward Gendron makes NCAA D1 commitment

March 6, 2020
The New Jersey Titans, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that Top Prospects forward Cam Gendron has committed to play NCAA Division 1 Hockey for the University of New Hampshire Wildcats, who play in Hockey East.

Gendron, 21, is in his second year with the Titans.  He has a combined fifty-six points (22 goals and 34 assists) in 103 games.

This season the 6’3/180 lbs. native of Wilmington, Massachusetts, has 33 points (15 goals and 18 assists) in 47 games. Gendron is tied for first in the league with the most shorthanded points (5) and goals (4).

He was also selected to and played in the 2020 NAHL Top Prospects Tournament last month where he scored one goal in two games for the East Division.

“I am super excited for the next four years at the University of New Hampshire,” stated Gendron. “To be able to play in the league I grew up watching for a team so close to home is a dream come true. I couldn’t be more thankful for this opportunity to play for a top-notch program and coaching at UNH.”

“With that being said, I would like to take this time to thank the Titans organization. They have pushed me on and off the ice to become the best player and person I can be. Could not thank Craig and Bob and the Titans organization enough for all they’ve done for me and my development. Lastly, I would like to thank my parents and family. Without their love and support, I’m not sure how far I would have made it in this game,” concluded Gendron.

“We are so proud of Cam and happy for him and his family,” stated Titans head coach Craig Doremus. “Cam is a kid who has worked tirelessly over his two years as a Titan. He has really embraced his identity and who he is as a hockey player. He has grown a tremendous amount on the ice and in the dressing room. He is extremely respected amongst his peers and will do anything it takes to win a hockey game. Cam is going to be a true asset to the UNH hockey program and student body. We greatly look forward to Cam being a huge part of our quest for the Robertson Cup.”

The University of New Hampshire is in Durham, NH. The Wildcats are coached by Mike Souza. They currently have a 15-14-3 record.
