Magicians and Titans win on Wednesday
Chippewa 2 @ MN Magicians 4 – The Magicians got two goals each from Blake Kryska and Lucas Kanta and 28 saves from Dysen Skinner in a 4-2 home win over Chippewa on Wednesday. Kanta scored early in the 1st period, which was answered with a goal from Chippewa’s Jacob Dirks to make it 1-1. Kryska then scored his two goals early in the 2nd period to make it a 3-1 game. Dirks added another for the Steel towards the end of the 2nd period to make it a 3-2 game. Kanta added his second of the game late in the 3rd period with an empty-net goal. Steel goalie Trent Burnham made 34 saves in the loss.
WBS Knights 3 @ New Jersey 5 – Five different players scored and forward Mitch Machlitt had three assists to lead the Titans to their fourth straight win thanks to a 5-3 home win over the Knights on Wednesday night. New Jersey led 2-1 after one period thanks to goals from Cam Gendron and Kyler Head, while Anthony Mastromonica scored for the Knights. In the 2nd period, the Knights briefly tied the game at 2-2 as Tyrone Bronte netted his 8th goal of the season, but just a minute later a goal from Matthew Iasenze gave New Jersey the lead back for good. In the 3rd period, the Titans put the game out of reach with goals from Body Medeiros and Gavin Gulash. Lincoln Hatten had the other goal for the Knights. Patrick Pugliese made 27 saves in the win, while Alex Contley made 21 saves in the loss.
