Saturday Scores: Mudbugs net win #30 with sweep

Lone Star goalie Cayden Bailey posted his 9th shutout of the season on Saturday night and his current shutout streak now extends over 292 minutes.

Springfield 0 @ Shreveport 4 - Richie Parent notched his fourth shutout of the season as the Shreveport Mudbugs blanked the Springfield Jr. Blues 3-0. Parent made 21 saves in total for the Mudbugs. Ryan Waltman, Jacob Smith, Carson Nichols and Matt Weber were the goal scorers for Shreveport. Cole Walter made 41 saves in his second straight start for Springfield. 
 
Minot 2 @ Aberdeen 3 (SO) - Clayton Cosentino scored the game deciding goal to lift the Aberdeen Wings to a 3-2 shootout win over the Minot Minotauros. Jordan Randall got the scoring started for Aberdeen just 3:12 into the game but Dan Russell tied the game for Minot in the closing seconds of the first. Cooper Haar’s third goal of the weekend gave Aberdeen the lead but Kyler Kleven’s goal in the final minutes forced the extra period. Henry Welsch stopped all three shooters he faced in the shootout in addition to the 25 saves he made in regulation. Ben Garrity was phenomenal as he made 47 saves in a losing effort.
 
Odessa 0 @ Lone Star 5 - The Brahmas cruised to their 13th straight victory as they shutout the Odessa Jackalopes 5-0. For the fourth straight game, Cayden Bailey did not allow a single puck to get past him. He now leads the league with nine shutouts on the season and his current shutout streak is over 292 minutes. Matt Guerra, Mitchell Digby, Michal Stinil, Joey Baez and Evan Goodings all found the back of the net for the Brahmas. Andrew Takacs stopped 41 shots for the Jackalopes.
 
Johnstown 2 @ Northeast 1 - Colin Price’s second goal of the game came with just 1:34 remaining as the Johnstown Tomahawks came back to defeat the Northeast Generals 2-1. Carson Gallagher and Carson Grainer each tallied assists on Price’s goals while Alex Tracy stopped 25 of 26 Northeast shots. Dylan Schuett had the lone goal for the Generals with Clark Kerner and Liam McCanney picking up the assists. Joey Stanizzi took the loss in net as he made 26 saves. 
 
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton 1 @ Jamestown 6 - Valentino Passarelli and Seth Bergeron each had a goal and two assists as the Jamestown Rebels took care of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Knights 6-1. Nick Siffringer and Eric Olson each tallied a goal and an assist while Carter Korpi and Jordan Cormier also found the back of the net. Noah West was nearly perfect as he denied 26 of 27 Knights shots. Zak Currie was the only one to get a goal past West while Alex Contey and Zach Stejskal combined for 29 saves. 
 
Maryland 2 @ New Jersey 7 - Chris Garbe registered a hat trick as the New Jersey Titans demolished the Maryland Black Bears 7-2. Matt Cameron and Brad Zona each contributed three assists as the Titans offense exploded for the second straight night. Michael Outzen, Matthew Iasenza, Kyler Head and Tyler Nasca all scored for New Jersey. Patrick Pugliese stopped 29 shots en route to his 22nd win of the season. Jackson Sterrett and Aaron Swanson scored for the Black Bears in the loss. 
 
Topeka 3 @ Amarillo 2 (SO) - Josh Langford stood on his head in overtime and then proceeded to stop all three Amarillo shooters in the shootout to lift the Topeka Pilots to a 3-2 shootout victory. Quinn Green was the only player to score in the skills competition and that was enough to win it for Topeka. Green scored the Pilots first goal to tie the game at one and Shawn Kennedy tied the game at two later in the second period. Nick Trela and Gleb Murtazin were the goal scorers for the Bulls. Max Gutjahr stopped 24 shots. 
 
St. Cloud 2 @ Austin 5 – In front of a sold out arena in Austin on Pink in the Rink Night, Tiernan Shoudy potted a pair of goals to lead the Austin Bruins to a 5-2 win over the St. Cloud Blizzard. Dante Sheriff and Connor Mylymok each registered a goal and an assist for the Bruins while Jed Pietila also tickled the twine. Brett Miller denied 30 St. Cloud shots to pick up the win in goal. Ike Taraszewski scored his first NAHL goal while Andrew Hicks also lit the lamp for the Blizzard. Tyler Bost and Tyler Thompson teamed up to make 28 saves.
 
Kenai River 7 @ Janesville 2 - Max Osborne netted two goals and an assist to lead the Kenai River Brown Bears to a 7-2 win over the Janesville Jets. Lucas Wahlin scored twice as well for the Brown Bears who snapped their five game losing streak in the process. Ryan Green, JJ Boucher and Peter Morgan all found themselves on the scoresheet as well. Danny Fraga was a wall as he stopped 34 of 36 shots. Nick Michel and Anthony Szurlej scored for the Jets in the loss. Grant Riley and Riley Sims combined for 31 saves.

MN Magicians 0 @ Chippewa 4 - Trent Burnham pitched his third shutout of the season as he stopped all 29 shots he faced. Jacob Dirks potted a pair of goals while Gordon Whalen and Connor McGrath also found the back of the net for Chippewa. Samuel Vyletelka made 40 saves for the Magicians. Minnesota’s loss also clinched a playoff spot for the Fairbanks Ice Dogs. They are the first team to punch their Robertson Cup playoff ticket in the Midwest Division. 
 
MN Wilderness 2 @ Bismarck 1 (OT) - Kimball Johnson scored at the 3:56 mark of overtime to give the Minnesota Wilderness a 2-1 overtime victory over the Bismarck Bobcats. The goal was Johnson’s eighth of the season. Bram Scheerer had the Wilderness’ only goal of regulation. That came all the way back in the first period. Then Daniel Chladek’s 12th of the year tied the game midway through the second period. The game would remain tied until Johnson’s game winner. Isak Johansson made 32 saves to pick up the win in goal while Ryan Ullan stopped 26 shots in the loss.
