The Aberdeen Wings, proud members of the North American Hockey League (NAHL), are pleased to announce that defenseman Antonio DiPaolo has committed to play NCAA Division I Hockey for the University of Alaska-Fairbanks in the WCHA.
DiPaolo, 20, is in his first season playing in the NAHL with the Wings. The 5’11/190 lbs. native of La Ronge, Saskatchewan has played in 27 games and has 15 points (5 goals, 10 assists). He is also a +8 on the season.
Before coming to the Wings, DiPaolo spent time with the Humboldt Broncos and the La Ronge Ice Wolves of the SJHL. Despite it being his first year with the Wings, DiPaolo was named an alternative captain by Wings Head Coach Scott Langer.
“Antonio came to the Wings with an immense amount of leadership qualities & experience. He is a player that has worked for all of his opportunities, and has continued to grow on and off the ice. Antonio’s ability to defend and add to the offense will make him a great addition to Coach Largen’s Alaska Fairbanks Nanooks,” said Wings Head Coach Scott Langer.
“I am honored to announce my commitment to play NCAA Division 1 college hockey with the University of Alaska-Fairbanks Nanooks. I am so grateful for the incredible support and guidance I have received from outstanding coaches, teammates, billets, friends and family. #dreamcometrue #nanooks,” stated DiPaolo.
